parts of your new personal computer, from the processor to the
video card down to the type of mouse you’ll be using.

What do you need your computer for? Is it meant mainly for office
use or would you want it particularly set up for gaming? The
hardware specifications would naturally differ, depending on

with their personal computer at home, they should be ready to
spend a lot because high end video cards and memory do not come
cheap at all!
Monitor
Which do you prefer – cathode ray tube or liquid crystal display?
Naturally, a monitor with a larger screen and better image resolution
is more expensive. And an LCD shall always be more expensive
than the other type. But if you don’t need a monitor that’s
top of the line, just make sure then that your monitor is at
least equipped with proper user protection from infrared.
Optical Drives
Do you only need a CD-ROM or would you like it to double as
a CD writer as well? Or maybe you would prefer a DVD writer
because DVDs are longer lasting than CDs and VCDs alike. When
purchasing a DVD burner, do make sure that it is able to support
all formats. Secondly, you’d want to check on the speed of your
optical drive. Surely you wouldn’t want to wait for half an
hour just to have one CD burned, would you?
Video Card
This part of the computer is the one that makes images appearing
in the monitor possible. As we all know, the better the video
card, the better the graphics. When shopping for video cards,
always make sure that it’s compatible with the rest of the CPU
